KAKAI BAUTISTA FEELS SO BLESSED TO BE IN TWO BIG FILMS: 'FAMILY HISTORY' & 'HELLO, LOVE, GOODBYE'

TWO BIG MOVIES are being shown this month: GMA Pictures’ “Family History” with Michael V and Dawn Zulueta on July 24 and ABS-CBN Films’ “Hello, Love, Goodbye” on July 31. And guess what, or rather, who do they have in common? Comedian Kakai Bautista, that’s who, as she is in the cast of both movies.

“I really feel blessed and I want to thank both GMA and ABS dahil kinukuha nila ako sa projects nila,” she says. “Nakakatawid ako nang maayos sa dalawang rival companies and I had a great time working with two very good directors, sina Michael V in ‘Family History’ and Cathy Garcia Molina in ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’.”

It’s common knowledge she was launched to stardom last year in “Harry and Patty” with Ahron Villena but it wasn’t very well received at the tills. “Well, ganun talaga. We’re told marami pang gustong manood ng movie pero inalis na agad sa sinehan. I’m glad naman na narito pa rin ako. Ang importante lang naman, lagi kang may naiiwang memorable sa audience.

"Nakikita nila kung ano kaya mong ipakita at hindi ka man umangat into the top, you know that you have it at kaya mo pang magtrabaho sa showbiz. E, ako, I really love my job and I have an intense passion for it, so I’m just glad to be still here and continue working. Basta positive ka lang lagi para puro good vibes ang life mo.”

Her wish is for both movies to be blockbusters. “Parehong maganda ang dalawang pelikula. May magagandang messages about love and life and family, so viewers can relate with them at mata-touch sila sa stories nito. Kuya Bitoy shows so much promise as a director in ‘Family History’.

"Ang galing niya. Siya rin ang sumulat ng script and he knows how to execute yung vision niya for the big screen. Ang ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’, love story ng dalawang OFW’s sa Hongkong. More than one month kaming nag-shoot doon at napakahusay ng acting ni Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo so, sana, parehong tumabo sa takilya ang dalawang pelikula.”

How about her lovelife? Seems like no one has been linked to her after Ahron Villena. “I do date, different guys, pero walang seryoso. Usually, coffee lang, or dinner, chikahan. Ganun lang, walang natutuloy. Parang nai-intimidate yata sa’kin ang mga lalaki, e. Maldita ang tingin nila sa’kin.

"E, wala akong magagawa. This is me. But as it is, maligaya naman ako, lalo na hindi ako nababakante when it comes to work. Pero siempre, hinihintay ko pa ring dumating na may magpapatibok talaga sa puso ko. Yung boom! Ito na. Mararamdaman mo naman, e. Kaso, wala pa talaga akong nararamdamang ganun so far.”
