GMA NETWORK is now cooking up a lot of new shows to start airing in the last half of 2019 and shown one after the other in the next few months. First is the suspenseful horror-thriller, “The Haunted Wife”, starring Rayver Cruz who’s so lucky to have no less than three leading ladies: former Miss World Megan Young, Kris Bernal (who just did “Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko” with Rayver) and Kim Domingo. The story must have been inspired by an episode shown in “Magpakailanman” last year also titled “The Haunted Wife” which starred Yasmien Kurdi and Mike Tan.

Next is “Primadonnas”, an upcoming drama to be directed by Gina Alajar. This comes after her big success as director of the hit primetime show, “Onanay”. This will star Aiko Melendez (in her comeback to GMA-7 after 9 years), Wendell Ramos, Katrina Halili, Chanda Romero, Benjie Paras, former child actress Jillian Ward and new teen stars Althea Ablan and Sofia Pablo.

Next is a yet untitled action-drama that will be the comeback vehicle of veteran actor Eddie Garcia to GMA-7. Eddie was last seen as a Kapuso actor in “Little Nanay” four years ago. His new show will be directed by Toto Natividad who directed him before in ABS-CBN’s “Ang Probinsyano”.  The young stars accompanying Eddie in this new series will include Gabbi Garcia (who’s now definitely on her own after her love team with Ruru Madrid has ended), Gil Cuerva and Thea Tolentino.

Then there’s the much awaited local version of the Korean hit dramatic love story, “The Descendants”. Dingdong Dantes will be playing the leading man called Big Boss, the leader of an elite military team, while Jennylyn Mercado (who’s still in “Love You Two” with Gabby Concepcion) is said to be the choice as the leading lady, Dr. Kang Mo Yeon, a cardiothoracic surgeon also known as Beauty. Also confirmed to be part of the cast are Jasmine Curtis Smith as Moira and Rocco Nacino as Wolf.  This will be directed by Dominic Zapata.
