May Tony Labrusca Learn Humility After His Arrogant Behavior At The Airport

TONY LABRUSCA’s career is definitely on the upswing after his acclaimed performances in indie films like Cinemalaya's “ML (Martial Law)” and Cinema One's “Double Twisting Double Back”, and in the Iwant streaming film, “Glorious”. Everything seems rosy and bright for him, until he sadly gets embroiled recently in an altercation with immigration officers at the airport because of his arrogant ways and feeling entitled behavior which was witnessed by several other people.

Whew! What a way to start the new year, on the wrong foot!

ABS-CBN, who’s handling his career, better do some quick damage control about his situation because the public opinion exhibited in social media is overwhelmingly against his making a scene and going berserk. People are bashing him vehemently and demand that he be punished.

Someone even quipped: “Hindi naman talaga siya pambida dahil mukha siyang kontrabida. Mas karanggo niya sina late Paquito Diaz and Max Alvarado.”

Because of this incident, it was also discovered that he’s actually an alien who doesn’t have a Philippine passport or dual citizenship. It turns out that he has been working here all along without even a legitimate working visa.

An incoming passenger who saw him rampaging at the airport also posted on social media that his alleged boyfriend, who turned out to be actor Alex Diaz and was with him on vacation in Canada, was trying to restrain him from his bad behavior but he won’t be stopped, even saying: “Don’t you know me? I’m a celebrity!” Wow! If this were true, it’s so sad as he has not really proven anything yet.

Immigration officials say that his disrespectful behavior to their officers is against the law and he might soon be a blacklisted foreigner who will not be allowed to work here. Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin even wants him deported. That will no doubt spell the end of his career.

His parents, Boom Labrusca and Angel Jones, have joined the fray in his behalf with their own statements.

Tony has likewise already issued an apology, saying: “It was very upsetting for me. And I’m sorry that I somehow took my frustrations out on the Officer. I know for a fact that the officer is merely doing her job. My biggest mistake perhaps was letting my emotions get the better of me and again I’m sorry. It was a long flight from Canada and while it is not a perfect excuse, I would like to start this year fresh both in my life and the people I’ve encountered with. Once again, I am deeply sorry for my reaction.”

May the experience teach him humility so that people would not say na nalunod agad siya sa isang basong tubig. Let’s see if the people would accept his apology.
