Jessy Mendiola So Blessed These Days As Both Her Love Life And Her Career Are Doing Very Well

JESSY MENDIOLA turned 26 on December 3 so the presscon of her new movie serves as a chance for everyone to greet her a happy birthday. She’s part of Star Magic Batch 15 launched in 2007. There were 10 of them, most of whom are no longer active. The ones still around are Isabelle Abiera (now with GMA-7 as Max Collins), Megan Young (who’s from GMA then moved to ABS-CBN and is now back with GMA again), Martin del Rosario (also a Kapuso now) and Krista Valle (who moved to GMA but is now back as Kapamilya and known as Bela Padilla.)

The second of three sisters, Jessy has a Pinay mom and a British dad who have since separated. She did supporting roles in several soaps and was given her first starring role in “Sabel” and played leading lady in “Bianong Bulag” and “Budoy”, but her biggest role is that of “Maria Mercedes” in 2013. She did several movies, like “The Reunion”, “The Trial”, “Mano Po 7” and “Extra Service”.

Jessy is now given her biggest break in films playing the title role no less in “The Girl in the Orange Dress”, an entry in the coming Metro-Manila Filfmest no less where is paired for the first time with Jericho Rosales. “I feel so blessed to be part of this year’s filmfest,” she says. “I’m also thankful to be given the chance to work with one of our finest actors in the industry who is so supportive and generous to his leading lady. He’s really a big help for me to be able to do my job well.”

She plays the role of Ana, a sensitive girl who’s quite conservative but has an adventurous spirit. She has experienced heartbreak before so she’s very cautious about falling in love and tries to resist it, until she gets so drunk one night and ends up spending the night with Jericho Rosales, who plays Rye, a very popular actor. She escapes from him and he remembers her because of the striking orange dress she’s wearing when they met. Echo then searches for “The Girl in the Orange Dress”, a dress which is actually owned by Maxene Magalona.

Also in the movie playing Jessy’s three BFF’s are Ria Atayde as Kakai, Sheena Halili as Sasha and Hanna Ledesma as Denise. Supporting them are Cai Cortez, Nico Antonio, Juan Miguel Severo, Maika Rivera, Via Antonio, with the special participation of Derek Ramsay, Tuesday Vargas, Karen Kaladkaren and Jennylyn Mercado, plus Luis Manzano and Boy Abunda. Produced by Atty. Joji Alonso of Quantum Films and directed by Jay Abello, “The Girl in the Orange Dress” is surely the romantic comedy you shouldn’t miss in the Metro filmfest.

Jessy is really so lucky as both her love life and career are really doing great these days. It's common knowledge that she and Luis Manzano are playing beautiful music together and he's always the knight in shining armor ready to defend and protect her from social media bashers who envy her whistlebait figure. Now, aside from "The Girl in the Orange Dress", she also has a new movie for Regal Entertainment, “Stranded”, where she’s paired for the first time with Arjo Atayde.
