Director Dominic Lim Of 'The Write Moment' Thankful For Having Cooperative Lead Stars & For Viva's Nationwide Commercial Release Of Their Movie

DIRECTOR DOMINIC LIM of “The Write Moment” admits that the story of a scripwriter who rewrites his own real love life is inspired by his own personal love story that didn’t have “any closure and ended without any explanation.” He adds: “The film will answer the question na anong gagawin mo kapag the woman who you thought you’d grow old with suddenly dumps you for no reason at all and you’re caught off guard?”

He entered his script at last year’s QCinema Filmfest and he was lucky that it was accepted. Now, Viva got it for distribution in theaters nationwide starting tomorrow. He feels lucky to have stars like Valeen and Jerald for his lead actors in his debut movie.

“I have no experience in directing and okay silang katrabaho as they have been very helpful,” he says. “The movie is actually a collaboration naming tatlo. Sometimes, mayroon silang ideas na binabato sa’kin and we would discuss them. They make suggestions on some aspects of their characters and we would incorporate them into their performance. Good vibes kaming lahat at swerte rin kami kay Valeen kasi I just love her face. She’s so beautiful, maganda kahit mula sa kahit anong anggulo.”

Dominic is the youngest director in IdeaFirst Company. He just turned 30 last June 20. He’s a
business management graduate from the Ateneo. “But my heart is not in it so I took up filmmaking at the Asia Pacific Institute,” he says. “Then I joined the Cine Panulat scriptwriting workshop of Direk Jun Lana and worked as scriptwriter and, later, assistant director. At ngayon, full length film na ang dinirek ko. We’re praying people will watch it now that Viva is giving it a nationwide theatrical release.”
