Jon Lucas Of Hashtags Gets His Biggest Movie Role In Regal's Metro Filmfest Entry, 'Haunted Forest'

JON LUCAS is a member of Showtime’s Hashtag who turned 22 last August 18. He was introduced as part of Star Magic Circle 2013 and he has appeared doing supporting roles in soaps like “Kahit Konting Pagtingin”, “Got to Believe”, “Be Careful with My Heart” and “We Will Survive”. He has also appeared in movies like “Just the Way You Are” and the Fil-Korean movie, “You and Me”, but he is now given his biggest break as one of the lead stars or Regal’s Metro Filmfest entry, “Haunted Forest”. “This is my first horror movie and very challenging pala gumawa nito,” he says. “May pagka-action din kasi at may scenes na hinahagis-hagis kami nung monster called Sitsit at naka-harness ako. Kapag tinabig ako ng halimaw, tumitilapon ako kaya naka-harness para malayo talaga ang bagsak ko. Ang lakas ng impact ha! Medyo masakit, lalo kapag paulit-ulit ang shots, pero safe naman kasi inaalagaan kami ng co-stars ng buong production team.”

He’s happy and proud to be part of “Haunted Forest”. “When we shot this, di namin alam na makakapasok pala ito sa Metro Filmfest kaya sobrang tuwa naming naging official entry kami. Fan ako ng horror movies, e. Yung ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ series ng Regal, marami kong napanood doon. And now, kami na ang entry this Christmas kaya tuwang-tuwa kami ng co-stars kong sina Jane Oineza, Maris Racal and my co-hashtag members na si Jameson Blake. So we’re all excited, pati sa pagsakay namin sa float sa parade of stars.”

What can he say about the success of Jameson who’s now doing several movies? “He deserves it na sobrang dami ng movies na ginagawa niya and I’m happy for him kasi kapag pinapanood ko siya, napakagaling talaga niyang artista. Lahat kami sa Hastags, happy para sa kanya.”

Jon is still grieving from the death of his mom last September when his friend in Hashtags, Franco Hernandez, died in a drowning incident in Davao a few weeks ago. “Sobrang nakakalungkot kasi pero I just pray to the Lord,” he says.

How did he feel when a basher said it should have been him who died and not Franco. “Siempre, masakit. Ano bang naging kasalanan ko sa kanya? Pero ipinagdasal ko na lang at salamat sa friends ko like si Vice Ganda na nagtanggol sa akin.”
