Award-Winning Actor Allen Dizon's New Movie, 'Bomba", Is Rated X By The MTRCB But Is Competing In The Warsaw International Filmfest On October 13 To 22

'BOMBA' is an official competition entry in the Warsaw International Filmfest in Poland from October 13 to 22. But we heard that the local MTRCB has given the movie starring award-winning actor Allen Dizon an X rating, meaning it’s not fit for showing in local theaters.

The MTRCB members who saw it allegedly doesn’t like the scenes where a person with disability (played by Allen, who’s a deaf mute in the story) is shown being bullied, then Allen is also shown having an illicit relationship with a teenaged girl (Angeli Nicole Sanoy). They also disliked scenes showing too much violence, children mouthing cuss words and expletives, and the improper depiction of the police in the movie.

We’re sure Dennis will make an appeal because it will really be such a pity if the movie would not be allowed to be seen in local theaters. But a local movie exec told us: “Sobrang higpit talaga ng MTRCB ngayon. Yung mga members, ang daming ipinagbabawal kaya maraming producers ang natatakot ngayong magpa-review ng pelikula nila. Yun ngang ‘Last Night’ ni Piolo Pascual, original, R-16 ang rating doon pero na-appeal kaya naging R-13 na lang.”
