Julian Trono, A Valedictorian In School, Now Writes Poems Dedicated To His 'Fangirl/ Fanboy' Leading Lady, Ella Cruz

JULIAN TRONO admits he has had three girlfriends before, but he’s currently loveless now and if ever he’d court again, it would be someone like Ella Cruz, his leading lady in the teen-oriented romance that opens in theaters tomorrow, “Fangirl/ Fanboy”.

“Kaya lang, at this point, we try to keep it all on a very professional level muna and just focus on our careers,” he says. “Mahirap haluan ng love ang careers namin ngayon kasi baka makagulo, baka sabihin ng tao na ginagamit lang namin to promote our launching film.”

Julian and Ella are really so diligent in promoting their launching flick in practically all the malls throughout the country, which are all filled the rafters with their fans when they are performing. Since their movie, “Fangirl/ Fanboy”, is about movie fans, has he ever encountered fans that become too possessive?

“Naku, marami po. Yung iba, sobra na ang closeness na stalker level na. May babae, may lalaki, may gay. Sumosobra na sa boundaries kaya kinausap ko nang maayos, but I tell them I want to keep our friendship para hindi ma-offend. Ang movie namin, parang tribute sa kanila. Yung hirap nila sa pagpila para makita lang ang idols nila. Sa mall shows, kapag napansin mo sila, sobrang big deal na sa kanila yun. Hindi lang nila basta sinusuportahan yung idol nila kundi minamahal nila.”

Julian was discovered by Joy Cancio, manager of SexBomb, and he was first included among the kiddie hosts of GMA’s “Tropang Potchi”. As a teenager, he did many soaps and was even sent to Korea to train with K-pop artists. He then moved to Viva which paired him with Ella Cruz to form the Julianella love team.

He is very articulate and this is not surprising as he graduated valedictorian from Roosevelt School and is now in college at Meridian International (MINT) College. He also writes poem and he’s now writing poems for Ella Cruz. He has written 20 poems so far and you can read them on his Facebook wall, #99TulaParaKayFangirl. “My goal is to write a total of 99 poems,” he grins.

Their movie is a teen-oriented romantic comedy and he plays Ollie, an aspiring actor, while Ella is Aimee, a dubber for teleseryes who believes in him and helps him get the lead role in a new teleserye based on a hit Koreanovela. Ella becomes his acting coach but when he starts to get linked to his leading lady, Shy Carlos, he forgets Ella so she gets broken hearted. “Pero siempre, mare-realize kong nasaktan ko pala ang puso ni Ella and I’ll make it up to her,” says Julian. “This is a feel good movie that viewers will surely enjoy watching.”
