TJ Trinidad Will Surely Irritate Viewers For His Role As Iza Calzado's Abusive And Parasitical Husband In 'Bliss'

TJ TRINIDAD plays Carlo, Iza Calzado’s parasite of a husband, in the controversial psychological thriller, “Bliss”, and he delivers a solid, very credible performance. How did he feel when the movie initially got an X rating from the MTRCB?

“Wala, chill lang,” he says. “I even texted our director, Jerrold Tarog, not to panic kasi confident akong we made a good movie na mataas ang quality, so I was sure mababago pa yung rating. Na nangyari nga sa second viewing ng MTRCB members.”

It’s his second time to work with Direk Jerrold after they did “Sana Dati” for Cinemalaya with Lovi Poe. “I already know how he works so I’m confident with him and it’s a pleasure to be part of the cast of ‘Bliss’. Magagalit sa’kin ang viewers dito kasi hingi ako ng hingi ng pera sa asawa kong si Iza, who’s a big movie star in the story, without her knowing I’m having an affair with her production assistant, played by Stephanie Sol, na nabuntis ko pa rito.”

He seems to be very comfortable working with Iza. “Oh yes, we’ve worked na sa film in ‘Desperadas 1 & 2’ and also sa TV, kaya pareho na kaming comfortable in each other’s company at nagkakatulungan kaming mabuti para mas mapaganda ang mga eksena naming magkasama kami.”

They were also initially together in ABS-CBN’s “A Love to Last” but he was suddenly dropped from the cast. But TJ would rather not talk about that anymore as he is now part of the cast of GMA-7’s new primetime show, “Mulawin V. Ravena”.
