How Doing A Cooking Show Like 'Home Foodie' , Now On Season 3, Strengthened The Bond Of Iya Villania & Drew Arellano As Husband And Wife

IYA VILLANIA and husband Drew Arellano are having a great time hosting the morning cooking show, “Home Foodie”, which is now on its 3rd season and shown after “Unang Hirit”. “Cooking together is a great bonding time for any married couple,” says Iya. “We’re both very busy with our own careers but it’s in the kitchen that we get to catch up ni Drew with each other. Hosting ‘Home Foodie’ is also a learning experience for us as it has taught us to cook so many recipes.”

“Yung kitchen kasi namin, kakabit lang ng aming living room,” adds Drew. “So while our son Primo is pakalat-kalat in his walker, nagmu-multi-tasking naman kami. I come home at about 5 PM and preparing our own food is part of the fun in our marriage. We eat dinner before Iya leaves for ‘24 Oras’.”

How did having a child change their lives? “A lot!” says Iya. “Lumala. Lumala ang pagmamahal namin sa family namin. It’s very demanding but very fulfilling, very enjoyable. Mahirap but when we see our son making the milestones in his life like when he smiles, when he first walked, it’s all worth it.”

“I know I should really salute my wife kasi most of the time, siya talaga ang in charge kay Primo as she’s the one who feeds him, changes his diapers, takes good care of him, and after all that, she still has to prepare for work,” says Drew. “So this coming Mother’s Day, saludo ako sa wife ko, really a great Mother.”

And what is “Home Foodie” Season 3’s difference from the first two seasons? “We now prepare Madalicious Meals na madali nang gawin, delicious pa!" they say. “And we’ll do this together with the San Miguel Purefoods Celebrity Chefs – Llena Tan-Arenas, RJ Garcia and Rene Ruz.”

From being a neophyte cook in Season 2, Iya is now able to prepare recipes on her own (“I can do different kinds of omelettes and desserts,” she says) while Drew’s own cooking skills level up in either trendy or resto-inspired but still very easy-to-cook dishes.

They will present 26 recipes in Season 3, done in thematic combos that aim to give viewers quick tips and ideas on meal pairings. With Home Foodie, eliminate meal planning woes!

“Most of the recipes featured this season have about 5 main ingredients that are pantry-friendly and come in 4-step procedures, using the finest quality products of San Miguel Pure Foods,” adds Chef Llena who is the “Home Foodie” master planner.

This season will also launch the Home Foodie Madalicious Meals Mobile App where all Home
Foodies can download the app right on their smartphones and watch 60-second cooking demos as well as meal planning & preparation tips of the recipes featured on Home Foodie TV Episodes.

Season 3 begins this Monday, May 15, Mondays to Fridays. Home Foodies can also visit the following online pages for a copy of the featured recipes: www.homefoodie.com.ph; Twitter: @homefoodiePH; Facebook: Home Foodie and Instagram: homefoodiePH.
