"Her presence in Cebu was a big surprise for me," he says. "Hindi ko alam na darating siya to celebrate my birthday with me. It's the best birthday gift I got this year."
But getting married soon is still definitely not one of their plans as they're now both busy with many projects. Sarah is in "The Voice" and shooting the new movie "My Future Husband" with John Lloyd Cruz, while Matteo is in the cast of two new films, "Can't Help Falling in Love" and "The Ghost Bride". "Can't Help" opens on April 15 as a special Easter presentation of Star Cinema, directed by Mae Cruz Alviar. Matteo plays the longtime boyfriend of Kathryn Bernardo who she is supposed to marry, but complications occur when she meets Daniel Padilla. The cast also includes Cherry Pie Picache, Dennis Padilla, Lotlot de Leon, Lito Pimentel and Joross Gamboa. "Ghost Bride" is a horror drama that pairs Matteo with Kim Chiu, directed by Chito Rono.
How does it feel being the third wheel in the KathNiel movie? "Playing such a role is not new to me kasi I was also the third wheel before in 'Dolce Amore' with Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil. I used to watch KathNiel in their TV shows and it's nice to do a movie with them now. Wala akong eksena with Daniel but I've met them both sa set and they're both great to work with. Seeing them together, iba yung magic nila, ang lakas ng chemistry. It made me feel happy na makasama sila in one movie. Naging fan din ako ng love team nila."
