Bea Alonzo Leads Cast Of ABS-CBN's First Primetime Teleserye To Open In 2017, 'A Love To Last'

ABS-CBN opens 2017 with two new shows on Primetime Bida: “Your Face Sounds Familiar: Kids” on January 7 and the family drama, “A Love to Last”, on January 9. Bea Alonzo stars in “A Love to Last” whose story is reminiscent of Sharon Cuneta’s grand slam-winning role in “Madrasta”. Bea plays stepmom to the kids of Ian Veneracion.

Ian is Anton Noble, a rich tycoon who used to be married to Iza Calzado as Grace, who left their family. He wants them to reconcile, but Iza prefers to have an annulment. Their kids are Julia Barreto as Chloe, JK Labajo as Lucas and Hannah Vito as Katie. Bea is Andeng, an events organizer who’s engaged to Victor Silayan. But before their wedding, she sees him two-timing her, so she calls off their engagement.

She moves on and applies at the company of Anton. Their first meeting is the usual cute meet. She’s waiting for Anton inside his office when she sees his photo with Ely Buendia. She’s a fan and starts singing Ely’s “Ligaya”. She gets carried away and sings at the top of her voice and gets terribly embarrassed when she sees Ian watching her. Ian hires her and in a business trip to Germany, the two lonely hearts become close to each other.

Bea never thought she’d fall in love with an older man who’s also a single parent with three kids. Just as things get cozy between them, here comes Iza returning to her family. So how will Bea deal with the ex-wife? Will she be accepted by Ian’s kids? Also in the cast are Enchong Dee as Bea’s crippled brother, Ronnie Alonte as Julia’s love interest and Khalil Ramos as Ronnie's rival, produced by Malou Santos’ Star Creatives and directed by Jerry Sineneng and Richard Arellano.

So how is it working with Ian? “Mukha siyang matalinong tao, but mahiyain,” Bea says. “Sa storycon, tahimik lang siya. Mas kay Iza siya nakikipag-relate. But I was right. Matalino nga siya, masarap kakuwentuhan. Madali kang makakakonekta sa kanya. After that, I look forward na to seeing him on the set, also Iza, para makapagkuwentuhan kami. Pinakaguwapo rin siya at his age now, kahit anong anggulo.”

What does she think is the secret for a love to last? “Love is a choice. If you make it a habit to love that person everyday, then your love will last. The show is also about the innocence of childhood as seen in the kids of Ian, and also about true love.”
