SARAH GERONIMO took a leave of absence from showbiz for a couple of months, but she now returns to work. “I’m glad binigyan ako ni Boss Vic ng free time and I really made the most out of it,” she says. “I’m thankful pinayagan nila akong mabakasyon. Nakatulong yun to end all my fears and hesitations, to fight some negative thoughts na hanggang dito na lang ako at di ko na kaya ito. I realized I don’t have to please everyone since I don’t work to please other people. Dumarating kasi yung point na you question, ano ba ang purpose mo in life? Masaya ka pa ba sa pinasok mo? Now, I just know my main aim should be to share with others the talent that God gave me. Now, I just hope to develop more as an artist and as a person. I hope to record more original songs and perhaps even write my own songs. My goal is personal growth and I know it’s a process, so unti-unti, dahan-dahan lang.”
She also wants to be of better help to other people in need. “I want to pay it forward. When we went mountain climbing (with boyfriend Mateo Guidicelli), I met marginalized ethnic people, mga natives sa na nakatira kabundukan, and I want to help them. Kailangan, kahit gaano ka-busy ang schedule mo, you should find time para makatulong sa iba. Helping out brings personal fulfillment, so I want to be more of a blessing to other people.”
After refusing to do a movie project and a TV show, Sarah is now fully recharged and invigorated so watch out for her next projects as she becomes active again both as a singer and as an actress.
