Mother Lily Monteverde Helps The Movie Careers Of Two Kapamilya Actresses, Janella Salvador & Yen Santos

MOTHER LILY is helping the careers of two Kapamilya stars, Janella Salvador and Yen Santos, by giving them projects for the big screen. Last Christmas, Janella’s movie with Regal, “Haunted Mansion”, was a surprise hit and turned out to be one of the top grossers. They want to give her an immediate follow up movie but she was told to give priority to her soap, “Born for You”, with Elmo Magalona. Now, she’s finally doing a new movie for Regal, “Mano Po VII: Chinoy”, directed by Ian Lorenos.

“I’m really glad na napahiram na uli sa amin si Janella for another Metro filmfest project,” says Mother Lily. “We believe in her potential so much and this time, we’re reuniting her with ka-love team in ‘Haunted Mansion’, si Marlo Mortel.”

“I’m so happy to be back with Regal,” says Janella. “At gustong-gusto ko ang project na ibinigay nila sa akin kasi it reunites me not only with Marlo but also with Sir Chief (Richard Yap), who played by dad in my first show ever, ‘Be Careful with My Heart’. I’m also excited kasi magsu-shoot daw kami on location in Mainland China so I’m looking forward to that.”

On the small screen, Janella is currently seen in “Born for You” with Elmo Magalona. As for Yen Santos, she’s ecstatic to be chosen as the leading lady on Piolo Pascual no less in “Once in a Lifetime: Northern Lights”. “I never expected this,” she says. “When Director Dondon Santos told me na ako ang magiging kapareha ni Papa P, hindi ako agad nakapagsalita. Sobra akong nabigla. Kasi first movie ko pa lang, si Papa P agad ang kapareha ko. Sa look test namin, sobrang intimidated ako but Papa P is so friendly he quickly put me at ease.”

Yen is part of PBB Teen Clash in 2010, the same batch where James Reid was the winner. Stardom was not given to her on a silver platter. She appeared in short lived shows like “Shoutout” and “Good Vibes”. She did several episodes of “MMK” and “Wansapanataym”. Her big break came in 2014 when she was cast in the hit primetime show, “Pure Love”, with Alex Gonzaga.

Then she was launched in “All of Me”, with Albert Martinez and Arron Villaflor, where she met Direk Dondon Santos. And now, Dondon has chosen her to be Papa P’s partner in “Once in a Lifetime”. Yen is leaving tomorrow for Queenstown, New Zealand where the movie will be shot in location. Isn’t she so lucky! When she returns, she’s also doing a new TV show, “Because You Loved Me”, with Gerald Anderson.
