CHRISTIAN BAUTISTA just renewed his contract with GMA-7. “I’m happy to be a Kapuso,” he says. “Natutuwa rin ako to be part of their biggest project so far, ‘Encantadia’, where I play the role of Apitong. Taga-Sapiro ako at ako ang magpapalaki kay Ruru Madrid as Ybarro. Enjoy ako dahil, for the first time, nakagawa ako ng ganitong telefantasya na naka-costume kami. Nasubukan ko na rin to do some action scenes, so masaya talaga ako rito.”
After his past relationships with Rachel Anne Go and Carla Dunareaunu, Christian admits he has a new inspiration in his life, Kat Ramnani, who’s the head of music content of Globe Telecom and is part Indian, Irish, American and Filipino. He used to be quite secretive about their relationship but since they appeared together at the Preview Ball, he has become more open about it.”
Is she THE ONE for him? “Oo naman, siya na. Sabi ko noon, the next time na magka-girlfriend ako uli, yun na.”
Does it mean we’ll soon hear wedding bells ringing for them? “I think ready na ako as I’m not getting any younger. We’ve been on for a year and 13 years na ako sa showbiz. Kaya lang, we can’t face the altar any time soon kasi mauuna yung brother ko who’s getting married this year. Ayoko naman makisukob. And besides, we need more time to plan well what’s the next step sa buhay namin. But even if I get married, I will continue to sing as there are many more songs I want to sing and record. I also want to explore other things in life. What’s nice is that Kat is very supportive. She’s a very intelligent, very special woman and I feel very blessed to have her in my life right now.”
