Alden Richards Remains Very Warm And Sincere In Dealing With The Entertainment Press

ALDEN RICHARDS hosted a thanksgiving party for the press at La Reve after coming home from Singapore where he had a hit concert, “One Fine Day with the Bae”, which was covered by no less than the BBC News that considers the AlDub loveteam a worldwide social media phenomenon. He raffled off lots of prizes (in cash and in kind) and has so many giveaways from the products he’s endorsing.

“I really have so much to be thankful for,” he says, “The press is very important in my career dahil sila talaga ang nakatulog sa’kin since I started my journey. But I thank not only the press, but also the public and the Lord for all the wonderful things happening to my career now. I want to thank everyone who watched and supported our movie. I honestly don’t know yet how much it has earned so far, but our producers are so happy, so sila na lang po ang tanungin nyo.”

After the huge box office success of the blockbuster “Imagine You & Me”, diehard Aldenatics can now read his book, “Alden Richards in My Own Words”, published by Summit Media, where he has a separate chapter for his partner, Maine Mendoza. His first GMA Records album, “Wish I May”, is certified 7 times platinum and he will soon be launching his second album with them.

Despite his success, Alden continues to get a lot of bashing from his detractors. And he has long acknowledged the fact that you cannot really please everyone. But press people who know Alden from way back during his struggling days know that he is always sweet and accommodating, unlike other stars who have such poor PR. We ourselves believe that Alden truly deserves all the success that he is getting now. Other young actors can take a seminar from him on how to be sincerely warm and gracious to the press, like this feeling “sikat” actor who, when we asked him something before the Q&A in a presscon started, told us: “Puede mamaya na lang para sabay-sabay na ang pagsagot ko.”

Alden’s next stop in his country-hopping concertizing is the U.S.A. and Canada, then London in September and October. He will also do another concert with GMA actors who are also recording artists: Dennis Trillo, Tom Rodriguez and Derrick Monasterio. They will be billed as “Heartthrobs” and this is due to on the year’s last quarter.

As for about doing a soap with Maine, he says it’s now in the works. But he can’t reveal any details yet. “I can’t say much, pero basta maganda ang pinaplano ng creative team namin,” he says.
Well, we’re just glad that GMA is dropping the idea of pairing him with some other actress like Jennylyn Mercado because, for sure, it will flop and it will only hurt both Alden and Jen, as he’s now so identified with Maine and AlDub fans won’t have it any other way.

What does he think would happen to his career in the next five years? “Naku, I don’t think that far, yung how I see myself in the future. Hindi ko pinoproblema yung mangyayari. Lahat, pinagpapasa-Diyos ko na lang. What’s happening now, hindi naman ito planned. Basta I just keep on thanking the Lord for what he has in store for me.”
