Nora Aunor Doesn't Seem To Be Choosy And Just Accepts Any Indie Project That Comes Her Way

ATE GUY is all over the place. We don’t know if her diehard Noranians will consider this good or bad. She’s doing one indie film after another. After “Whistleblower” (we all know what its fate was at the box office), she’ll next be seen playing the supporting role of a lesbian (with Ana Capri as her lover) in “Pare, Mahal Mo Raw Ako”.

Then she is in the Cinemalaya entry, “Tuos”, to be shown in August. She plays a village girl in the island of Panay called Pinailog, a woman chosen to live in solitude so she can memorize all the Ilonggo chants and dances of their tribe to keep their traditions alive. She co-stars with Barbie Forteza, Ronwaldo Martin and Elora Espano.

She has one movie long in the can, “Padre de Pamilya”, with Coco Martin, which has yet to be shown in theaters but is now already available on pirated DVD. This is directed by Adolf Alix, who’s also directing her in still another new movie, “Nympho”, where she’ll play a nymphomaniac co-starring Martin del Rosario, Sebastian Castro and Angeli Bayani. Nora quips that this movie will make her dream of going bold come true. At the presscon of her episode in “Maalaala Mo Kaya”, Ate Guy also told us she’s doing yet another new movie based on a true story, “Hinulid”, for Christian Cordero.

Ate Guy has two other projects that are proving to be controversial. First is “Kabisera”, based on the story of a family massacred in Batangas, co-starring Ricky Davao, JC De Vera, Jason Abalos and Luis Alandy, directed by Real Florido. This was started last year yet and it has two more shooting days to go. She says she’s just waiting for them to call her to finish the movie, but someone told us they’ve already scheduled her for shoots but she’s the one who’s always unavailable.

Another movie is “Oro”, about gold mining in Bicol, directed by Alvin Yapan of “Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa”. She said she was surprised when she learned that after shooting for one day, she was informed that she has already been replaced by another actress. Someone involved in the production claims that she demanded an additional talent fee and wanted John Rendez to be included in the cast, but they decided to just replace her.

We don’t know how true these stories are, but Ate Guy should clear her name as it doesn’t reflect well on her kind of professionalism, especially now that she claims she has changed for the better. Also, in the eyes of the public, it appears as if she just accepts any project that comes her way and doesn’t choose well at all, unlike her rival who seldom makes movies and makes it sure that she chooses all her projects well.
