Ian Veneracion Says Jodi Sta. Maria Is Easy To Love But He's A Responsible Married Man With Three Kids

IAN VENERACION is very happy with the second wind that he’s getting in his acting career. Now 41 years old, he started his career as a child actor in “Joey & Son” in 1982 when he was only 7. Seiko Films later built him up as a teen action star in films like “Alyas Baby Face”, “Zaldong Tisoy” and “Bukas Tatakpan Ka ng Dyaryo”

He became in demand as an action star even with other film companies and he did movies like “Boy Praning”, “Ben Balasador”, “Bastardo”, etc. He lied low when the production of local movies slackened but his career was revived when he did “Pangako Sa’Yo” with Jodi Sta. Maria. They were paired on the big screen in the omnibus movie, “All You Need is Pag-ibig”, and they’re now together again in the love triangle film, “The Achy Breaky Hearts”, along with Richard Yap. Doesn’t he get attracted to Jodi even off cam?

“It’s so easy to fall in love with Jodi as she has so many lovable qualities,” he says. “But as everyone knows, I’m a happily married man with three kids. My eldest, Draco, is now 17, Deidre is 15 and Bucio is 9. I have so much respect for Jodi.”

In “Achy Breaky Hearts”, Ian plays Ryan, a broken hearted man after his girlfriend (Sarah Lahbati) left him when he proposed to her. He then meets Jodi as Chinggay, who’s been unattached for seven years. He falls for her but then, Jodi’s ex-BF, Richard Yap as Frank, comes back to her and wants them to reconcile. Aside from “Achy Breaky Hearts”, Ian is also busy taping for his new teleserye, “The Second Wife”, with Bea Alonzo and Iza Calzado, supported by Enchong Dee, Julia Barretto, Vin Abrenica, JK Labajo, Irma Adlawan at Tirso Cruz III. He’s also shooting a suspense-thriller with Iza Calzado directed by the award-winning Jerrold Tarog of “Heneral Luna”.
