Alden Richards-Maine Mendoza's First Anniversary Movie, 'Imagine You And Me', Opens On July 13, Up Against A Movie Of Star Cinema & Six Local Films In Tofarm Filmfest

THE TITLE “Imagine You and Me” of the Alden Richards-Maine Mendoza movie is no longer tentative but already final. The trailer has been released and it says the playdate is sure to be on July 13, perfect as the first anniversary presentation of the AlDub love team.

Maine says it’s been a magical year for her that she will remember for the rest of her life. From being a nobody, she became the Dubsmash Queen and her love team with Alden catapulted her to stardom, giving her fame and fortune. It made her a household name, doing TV shows and movies, with her earning so much from her numerous endorsements that she’s now a multi-millionaire.

The movie is filmed on location in Italy, directed by Mike Tuviera, with the movie’s title song’s lyrics (a love song in English) written by Maine Mendoza and the music by Vic Sotto no less. Maine herself sang it in “Eat Bulaga” as part of their 11th monthsary celebration. But there is also a duet version with Alden. She has confessed that Alden is her inspiration in writing the song.

In the movie, Alden plays Andrew while Maine plays Gara, both working in Italy. They meet with the idyllic and beautiful Lake Como in the background. Also in the movie is Jasmine Curtis Smith, with a special guest appearance by Marian Rivera.

We heard Star Cinema will be scheduling against “Imagine You and Me” a thriller, “Dukot”, starring Enrique Gil and Shaina Magdayao. Also opening on July 13 is the ToFarm Film Festival of six new local movies. Let’s see which one of these many new local releases will reign supreme at the box office.
