Nyoy Volante Has Promising Entry In The Himig Handog 2016 Love Song Writing Contest That Will Have Its Finals At KIA Theatre This Sunday

YOU HAVE until tomorrow, April 23, to vote for your favorite song finalist in Himig Handog 2016 P-Pop Love Song Writing Contest. The finals night will be held at Kia Theatre on Sunday, 7 PM, with Liza Soberano, Kathryn Bernardo, Enrique Gil and Robi Domingo as hosts. You can get your tickets at Ticketnet for only P1,590 for VIP seat, P1,060 for orchestra and P425 for balcony. There are 15 song entries that are all exceptionally good, all interpreted by great performers. Honestly, wala kaming itulak-kabigin sa kanila.

One very popular song is “Patay na si Uto”, composed by Oliver Narag and interpreted by Nyoy Volante, himself a singer-songwriter. “I’m grateful na sa dinami-rami ng singers sa ating music industry, ako ang napili to do this wonderful song,” says Nyoy, who’s a newlywed to theatre actress Mikkie Bradshaw. Nyoy will soon appear doing the lead role of Frankie Valli in the local stage version of the hit Broadway musical, “The Jersey Boys”.

“Patay na si Uto” is about a guy who is “uto-uto” to his girlfriend. But he has since realized that his girlfriend is just using him and has already replaced him someone else. So now that he’s heartbroken, he declares in his song that Uto, his former self, is now dead. We’re sure a lot of people who become blind to the faults and shortcomings of their loved ones and just give in to everything they want will be able to identify with the song well.
