Derrick has been singing since he was a student at Claret School where he was a member of their glee club. He used to sing regularly in the Sunday noontime shows of GMA-7, so singing has really always been one of his passions, aside from acting. This year 2016 is really turning out to be a good one for him since, aside from the album, he also stars in the hit Afternoon Prime drama, “Hanggang Makita Kang Muli”, where he is the leading man of Bea Binene.
“We’re all thankful for the very warm reception given by the viewers to our show,” he adds. “Laging mataas ang rating namin kaya naman inspired kaming lahat sa taping para mas mapaganda pa ang bawat episode ng show namin.”
As Calvin, Derrick looks so much like a heartthrob so it’s not surprising that Kim Rodriguez as Claire becomes terribly attracted to him and will do everything to win his affection. But Derrick obviously cares more for Bea as Ana, and what irks Kim even more is the fact that Angelika de la Cruz as Evelyn, her adopted mom, is now also devoting more attention to Bea who is responding favorably to all the care and attention she is giving her. This makes Kim very cruel to Bea and hurts her physically, making Bea very scared of her. Meantime, Derrick’s doctor dad, Ramon Christopher, wants to get Bea from Angelika to study her, while Ina Feleo as Odessa gives herself a new identity called Margaret and succeeds in seducing Raymart Santiago as Larry.
