Edgar 'Bobot' Mortiz' Is Back Before The Cameras After Being A Producer-Director

FORMER MATINEE idol Edgar Mortiz (also the original ka-love team of Ate Vi in the Vi & Bot love team) has successfully reinvented himself from being an actor-singer to being a top producer and director at ABS-CBN, doing hit shows like “Goin Bulilit” and “Banana Split”. But lately, we notice that he’s active again appearing before the cameras. He’s seen daily in two shows.

First, he’s one of the judges in “Tawag ng Tanghalan”, which is not surprising since he himself was discovered when he joined the original “Tawag ng Tanghalan” in the 60s. Second, he’s back into acting as the husband of Rio Locsin and adoptive father of Enrique Gil. After this, is he now ready to do a reunion movie with Ate Vi? “I’m not really sure kung after ‘Dolce Amore’, I will do another TV soap or a movie. About working with Ate Vi, why not? But kailangang pumayag muna siya kasi baka ako lang ang willing at siya, hindi naman pala.”

Both him and Ate Vi now have their own families and have kids who have also joined showbiz. Ate Vi’s son Luis Manzano is very active hosting so many shows on ABS-CBN. Bobot’s sons with Milette Santos, Frasco and Badge are also active in showbiz. Frasco is now a director while Badge is an actor-comedian last seen in “Beauty and the Bestie.”
