Susan Roces Finally Put An End To The Rumors That Sen. Grace Poe Is The Daughter Of Rosemarie Sonora And The Late Pres. Marcos

SEN. GRACE POE was obviously touched by her mom Susan Roces’ decision to finally speak about the urban legend that she is the daughter of Rosemarie Sonora and the late Pres. Marcos. “Naku, ang dami ng dekadang nagdaan. Ayoko na sanang mag-explain. Pero puno na ang salop kaya dapat nang kalusin,” says Susan. “Kung totoo, hindi ko ide-deny. Pero kasama ko ang sister kong si Rose noong mga panahon yun, day and night, at never ko siya nakitang nagdalang-tao. That was in 1968, the year Ronnie and I were married. She was so busy then with movies and TV shows. Kaya tama na ang mga kuwentong imbento.”

At this point, Grace says what is important is the present. “Mas importante yung great values I learned from my parents that make me who I am today,” she adds. “What my mom always says is you should have a purpose greater than yourself. It’s something that my Mom and Dad applied in their own lives.”

Grace is also happy to meet the woman who found her at the baptismal font of the Jaro Cathedal in Iloilo in September 3, 1968, Sayong Militar. She met Sayong, who now lives in Canada, just before the recent proclamation rally of her Partido Galing at Puso in Plaza Miranda. Sayong gave her to her friend Tessie Ledesma who in turn handed Grace to FPJ and Susan. Sayong, now 89 years old, came home to testify that Grace is a true blue Filipino born citizen.
